Weekend Wrap Up // City Slackers

We took Cash and Trump to the Intrepid Museum at Pier 86 this weekend. The ship is so massive, they didn't realize we were even on a boat—this made the airplanes, jets and submarine WAY more impressive!
Cash with McMuffin and Lolo on the sub.

 Don't rock the boat, baby.

 M*A*S*H
anyone? anyone?
Boys left me hanging during our photo op with the black jet... thanksssss.

Found our cousin and his fab girlfriend at Holey Cream (where donuts meet ice cream)
and took a stroll on a beautiful Spring day in New York.

 Best part of my day.
The whole damn fam on our old stoop. (Instagram-style—follow me here.)

Just Us Mannequins.

Our dress picks of the night at the Fairfield Countess + Mitchells New Store Within A Store launch party. It's difficult to see, but mine has beaded black fringe and Lo's has yellow fringe encased in yellow lace. BANANAS! Can you tell we have a slight dance costume obsession?

Just us mannequins—we blend right in.
Cheers!

Weekend Wrap Up // Celebration

A couple weeks back I shared some birthday invitations I designed, check out how the invitation set the tone for the event. Love it!

Super excited to have my sister back in town, and as promised, I totally dragged her around town. (Having come straight from two months in Asia, Lolo fit right in at the Shanghai 1930's-themed party.)

The Lo-Down.

My sister's blog got a little makey-over for her 2013 adventure (courtesy of me—isn't it nice when your sister is a designer?) She's leaving London behind to explore the Orient with a pre-travel pit stop in Los Angeles. For specific details on where in the world Lo will be check out her blog: Hi from Lo.

Tea Time.

My sister, Lo, moved to London over the Summer. We've been keeping up with each other via Gchat, Voxer voicemails, Viber texts, and Skype video chats as well as our cyber tea time—which I enjoy late morning while she's sipping in the afternoon.

In true big-sister style, I'm letting you in on another little tid-bit about Lo. She's been keeping a blog about her London adventure—it's called Hi from Lo(ndon)! Totally check it out.

And a quick reminder that tomorrow is my Pinterest Party! See you there.

Weekend Wrap Up // Visitor Parking

We had a few very special visitors this weekend...Danielle and her brand new puppy, Oakley.

Pretty sure G$ was trying to hide him in our house.

My Sister-in-law, Ali (author of The Adults, Wall Street Journal top 10 novels of 2011—just saying) was up to celebrate birthday month too. And today's her birthday! Here's to a day of connecting flights and warm 'Bama nights. Cheers!

Rock Down to Organic Avenue.

My sister, Lo is staying with us for a few days and she decided to try a 3-day juice cleanse from Organic Avenue. The juices ranged from delicious to blecgh (of course, I tasted them) but so is the nature of the juice cleanse. She completed the LOVE Beauty Cleanse which also came with a cleanser and face mask—how cool is that? So I'm thinking it was a total success since Lo has glowing skin and feels great inside and out and I was totally digging the bottle packaging and tote bag, along with their cute and clear website.

Trumpster was really into the juices—so much so, he wanted to try one. Watch my Viddy of Trump's very first green juice...

Who's That Girl?

If you've been following my blog for a while you might recognize this little lady. I'm so proud of my little sister, Lo, and how beautiful these photos of her came out for Hushed Commotion.

Looking back, I wish I had these pics from the future when I gave her that awful haircut when she was 19. With a little perspective, maybe she wouldn't have passed out.

Design-wise, I'm totally digging the website! Soft and beautiful—perfectly reflecting the items being sold.

The Real Housewives of Chicago?

None of us live in Chicago, and we aren't bonafide housewives—which seems irrelevant with the actual casts of The Real Housewives shows—but that's not going to stop my sorority sisters (don't hate) and I from living it up in the Second City.

I'm super excited for a long weekend of frivolity with my ladies of leisure. And especially hoping we can knock back a cocktail or two at Public. Check out this bar! Gorgeous.

We're leaving on a jet plane tomorrow a.m. but check back for a guest post that'll cover a very special anniversary! Have a great weekend.

Thanksgiving Photo Leftovers.

I'm sure you're all ready to move on to bigger and better things (like Christmas) but let's just revisit Thanksgiving one last time. We had an awesome week-long visit in Rochester with family and friends! With the big highlight being Thanksgiving at my parents' house. 19 adults, 5 kids, 2 turkeys, and one hell of a good time.

I made this and all of our seating cards about 20 years ago. See, I loved type from a very early age. And check out that pilgrim woman profile!

Trumpster with his Godfather.

Nonna's soup kicks off our festive meal. It's a stracciatella and turkey soup with mini cheese-less manicotti. You're so jealous—and you should be. It's outstanding.

My sister and I with our cousin, Michele.

The bird. So delicious. Li'l G named him Trevor the Turkey.

Butternut squash, spinach, onions and cranberries.

Is it weird that Brussels sprouts round out my top three Thanksgiving dishes?

Going for a walk before dessert. Laura brings her "road soda".

McMuffin carrying the Trumpster who fell asleep on the walk.

G$ gets tickle-attacked by his cousin, Madeline.

Lastly, we took a picture of each side of our family—but this photo is my favorite. Check out Li'l G's face. Waaaah.

Okay, let's officially move into Christmas season! Can't wait to share this years holiday card and a few of the others I designed for clients.
