The Return of the Food Fairy.

Back in my chubby sorority days we'd often sometimes grab an ice cream sundae for lunch and dinner. Since then, I've cleaned up my eating habits a bit and haven't revisited ice cream as a supper option until last week when the boys decided they wanted to skip a nice wholesome meal and move ten spaces to Sweetsville. Lucky for me, they are under the impression that Pinkberry frozen yogurt is ice cream. 20 points for this girl.

Unfortunately, we seem to have stirred up some food-fairy-feelings and now I want Pinkberry for lunch and dinner every day. -15 points

PopShoppin'

With PopShop Market opening it's proverbial doors in a bit over 2 weeks (June 1st at Fairfield Theatre Company's warehouse and parking lot in Fairfield, CT), I seem to be eating and breathing our wide range of fantastic vendors. I want to share a few of my favorites—but of course, you'll have to pop in and judge for yourself.

Whitecaps.

From Chloe to Topshop and everywhere in between, (Stone Cold Fox and Marisia Swim) scallops are all the rage! The bad news is that they don't look good with copious scalloped potatoes (that I may have indulged in over the Easter holiday.)

Weekend Wrap Up // Souper Sunday

With an increasingly busy work week, I haven't been cooking as often as I'd like. So with the entire family on quarantine (nothing serious, just some March Madness) I thought it would be a good time to whip up some chicken soup and a salad. See below for the super easy, super green salad.

Thirsty Thursday // La Rosette

There's not much I love more than a delicious cocktail to wash down the craziness of the work week. And I found my absolute FAVE while out to dinner with friends a couple weeks ago: La Rosette!

As I'm sure you can guess, I love this magical concoction even more because it's made with the most beautifully designed bottle ever, St. Germain—behold!

Weekend Wrap Up // LAS to JFK

This past weekend was a blur of lights, yummy food, cocktails, and obviously dancing! Here's an Instagram crash course in what went down from New York to Vegas and back again.

Reading material for the next six hours.

 Ladies who lunch!

 And lunch.

 My new friend.

After a much shorter—4-hour—flight back to JFK...
There was dinner with Dyan (trainer to the stars) by her fabulous flat mates and off to Tillman's to catch up with my long lost partner in crime—Miss Fancy Nancy, the bride-to-be!

Friday Faves // The Dutch

If a restaurant exists where the food is as delicious as the graphics—there you will find me.

No More "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" Dance.

Li'l G only eats food if it's:
a.] dipped in ketchup
b.] dipped in maple syrup
c.] smothered with peanut butter

And now there's a peanut butter recall.

Looks like the ol' brown lunch bag will be getting a makeover to include things like "Carrots with Ketchup", "Ketchup and Jelly Sandwich", and everyone's favorite "Crackers with Maple Syrup".

Falling Hard.

New York Fashion Week is practically here. And yes, I'm very excited to start wearing fall clothes but is it possible that I'm MORE excited to eat Fall foods? Not only is it possible, it's absolutely freaking true.

As it turns out, my Mom sent me the handy-dandy Wegmans Fall 2012 magazine, Menu, that is filled with Autumnal goodness! So I'm kicking it off tonight with a little Garlic-Parmesan Tilapia.

Get the recipe here. (And if you find yourself near a Wegmans I suggest grabbing a palette of their basting oil. I use it in almost everything I make.)

Other deliciousness that will be grace my table top in the days and weeks to come...

Pretty much put anything on tortellini and you're set. Don't believe me? Try this.

Feel free to post any awesome recipes you find to the Facebook page. And I hope you'll embrace the "all" in Fall. That was so cheesy and I don't even care right now.

Meatless Monday Meets Mango

Even Meatless Monday should start with the most important meal of the day. You have to try this improvisation of my favorite smoothie from The Stand in Fairfield, Conn. — so refreshing!

Just Another Meatless Monday // Fish?

Yesterday (Tuesday) was my Monday, so I thought I'd treat it as a Meatless Monday. And in Andrea-land, fish doesn't count as meat. That means Meatless Mondays just got a whole lot more protein-packed! This was super easy to make. I picked all the tomatoes and basil from the garden that had ripened while we were away on vacation. And threw it together with some cod from the fish market, and zucchini from my parents' garden. Voilá!

Rock Down to Organic Avenue.

My sister, Lo is staying with us for a few days and she decided to try a 3-day juice cleanse from Organic Avenue. The juices ranged from delicious to blecgh (of course, I tasted them) but so is the nature of the juice cleanse. She completed the LOVE Beauty Cleanse which also came with a cleanser and face mask—how cool is that? So I'm thinking it was a total success since Lo has glowing skin and feels great inside and out and I was totally digging the bottle packaging and tote bag, along with their cute and clear website.

Trumpster was really into the juices—so much so, he wanted to try one. Watch my Viddy of Trump's very first green juice...

Just Another Meatless Monday

In an attempt to support Meatless Monday, I whipped up this surprisingly light dish—but I guess that depends on how many scoops of orzo you top your zucchini halves with. You could totally use one half of the zucchini with the orzo as a side dish to a fish or meat entrée another day of the week. I definitely feel better when I eat vegetarian, but I can't pass up a good ol' meatball!

Sous Bakery Chef

If you're looking for a fun and delicious activity for you and your littles this rainy Tuesday. Put on your baker's hat!

WARNING: This cake is not gluten-free. There's a good chance it contains tree-nuts. And your kids will most likely have a sugar high (followed by a crash). Enjoy!
