March 25, 2011

What were you doing when you were 24? Probably the same as me: boozing, shopping, working for the weekend. Well, my sister in law, Ali, was writing a book. A legit book. Put out by a real publisher; a couple of dudes called Simon and Schuster—maybe you've heard of them.

The book is called 'The Adults', by Alison Espach. She's received incredible reviews from The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal—girl is everywhere, like Charlie Sheen. Only way cuter. And sober. And smarter. But still WINNING!

Anywho, when she needed a website, Ali asked me to help her out in the design department. And here's what I came up with...

Since this is her debut novel I wanted her name to be hero. The grass, bright colors and hand drawn speech bubbles are all reminiscent of the main character, Emily Vidal, but also Ali who is young, fun, and bright.

Of course, I had to include her Bio page so you can see what a cutie pie she is.

And also the Press page so you can see:
A. How the reviews go off the page—that's how amazing it is.
B. More importantly, how Ali's name changes color from section to section.

It's Friday. Go out and buy Ali's book. You can start it this weekend while your boyfriend, husband, dad, man friends are watching college basketball.

Me and my mini-fam will be headed to my hometown to celebrate my Dad's birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad! I love you.
