Weekend Wrap Up // LAS to JFK

This past weekend was a blur of lights, yummy food, cocktails, and obviously dancing! Here's an Instagram crash course in what went down from New York to Vegas and back again.

Reading material for the next six hours.

 Ladies who lunch!

 And lunch.

 My new friend.

After a much shorter—4-hour—flight back to JFK...
There was dinner with Dyan (trainer to the stars) by her fabulous flat mates and off to Tillman's to catch up with my long lost partner in crime—Miss Fancy Nancy, the bride-to-be!

New Year Kickoff!

Every year, I come up with a goal I'd like to accomplish in the new year. One year I learned how to DJ, the year before that I learned how to knit. This year, I'm shooting for more dancing—in a studio or in da club. If the music is good, I'll be busting a move.

Baby Gaga.

Lady Gaga's got nothin' on this little peanut-pie.

I need a daughter. sigh*
I love my boys, but they don't have moves like this...or leg warmers for that matter.

Happy Friday. Have a sweet weekend.

2OM12

I've pretty much hated yoga since, well, forever. Sure, I've done the occasional chatarunga for charity benefits, and downward dog for a prenatal yoga class when I was pregnant with Trumpster but for whatever reason, I didn't really get it—or like it.

All that changed last week. I decided to give it another whirl at Saraswati's Yoga Joint with Jess, a super yoga-devoted friend of mine and hot-damn I'm hooked! Is it a new year's fad that will fade come February? Who knows. For now, I'm digging how strong and flexy I feel.

Thank you to my parents for paying for and driving me to thousands of dance classes and competitions as a young girl—I think all those years of stretching and ballet are still paying off.

Kellermans.

We leave for vacation this week and are heading to what I like to call, Kellermans. Golf, spa, family time...you get the idea.

Here's McMuffin and I last year with our winning talent show routine.

We practiced a ton.

Alright, alright—clearly, not us.

Well, if you're looking to bring some Baby 'style' into your life I found these spot-on outfits from Aubrey and me.

Both would not be complete without this rediculously amazing ring:

I have a few guest bloggers lined up for you while I'm gone. Enjoy!

Fairfield Half Marathon.

It's no secret—I do not run. There are a few reasons for this:

1. I run like a duck.
2. I find it boring.
3. It hurts my knees. (I know, I know. WAAAA poor baby. But, if Fairfield held a dance-a-thon OR a rollerskate-a-thon—I'd definitely be in it to win it. I LOVE rollerskating music—I know you know what I'm talking about.)

Anyway, for the above reasons I am even more in awe and proud of all the half-marathon runners we cheered on yesterday.

Li'l G kept saying how it was "his turn" to run. And kept trying to join in with the runners.

When I gave G$ the choice to either clap for the runners that went by our street or take a nap. He decided to take a seat in his Lightning McQueen lawn chair and look for Daddy and Aunt Lo.

In the lead, we found Brian! (He's Melissa's hubby whom I blogged about last week.)

Next up, McMuffin! He made awesome time—especially considering he only trained for 2 weeks and 4 runs = 1 hr. 52 mins.

Li'l G was so excited when we saw Daddy but then started crying when he kept on going to the finish line.

I didn't get great pictures of the rest of our runners in action including (from left to right) Adam, Melissa with baby Emma, Aunt Lo and her man Ryan, McMuffin with Li'l G and Brian with Jack.

Especially proud of my sister. I mean, look at her—she's a human gazelle. Amazeballs.
(I bet you can't even tell that I made these three go to a tequila bar with me the night before the race.)

Some other shots from the weekend:

 Li'l G and Poppy.

Emma!

Baby Smiley!

G$ with the sprinkler toy Aunt Renee gave him.

Me with Li'l G grabbing breakfast and coloring at the bagel shop.
I guess I'll never leave the kids table.

Beat that Beat.

Yesterday, on the way to 'school' (nice way of saying daycare) we stopped at Dunkin Donuts to grab some Munchkins for the munchkins in Li'l G's new 3's class. We were trying out a new kid's radio station on Sirius Radio when the Crazy Frog song came on. I looked back and saw G$ beating the beat. I am so happy he didn't stop so I could record it.

In case it's hard to hear, he first says, "Mommy do."
And then, "It's a long song."

As a girl who took dance classes (shout out to NY Academy of Dance and Miss Jodi) from the time I was three years old—this made me happier than you'll know. My little boy has rhythm (sort of)! And actually likes to dance (unlike his Father). EEeeeeee! Joy.

Twinkle Toes.

Yesterday evening the hubby and I had a date night to see the New York City Ballet. We popped over to PJ Clarke's for a quick bite (is it just me or is the menu at the Lincoln Center location way more robust than the one on the East side? Even so, I like the original location on 3rd Ave better—just saying.), then we headed across the street for the show.

Check out McMuffin's new glasses and my equally exciting salad!

The performances included: Agon, Square Dance, and Episodes. And the dancers are beyond amazing. If you saw Black Swan I don't need to tell you how hard they work and how much pressure is put on them to achieve graceful perfection in every performance—yea, yea, yea, the movie might have been a smidge exaggerated—nonetheless these guys and gals are true athletes.

Another jewel of the ballet is the theater itself. I love going to the David H. Koch Theater—it's like walking into a jewelry box.

Inside the theater. Doesn't it look like stacks of the Cartier love bracelet?

The only sparkle I rocked last night was the new bracelet the boys gave me for Mother's Day, but in the future one of these tulle ensembles might be appropriate along with the signature Cartier bracelet. I'm not sure which came first, the performance hall or the bracelet (let me know if you know) but one HAD to influence the design of the other—I just KNOW it.

Okay, the sparkles on the tights and the studs on the shoes might be a little TOO much, but it's the ballet—and I LOVE costumes! Especially sparkly ones. Basically, anything sparkly—there I said it.
