I got 10.

My Facebook feed is filled with random numbers of things being shared by people as given to them by a another friend. You've been reading these, right? I had no intentions of participating (judging, judging) until one of my oldest friends, Tara, got me after I unknowingly liked her list. Well, here I am participating—with style.

In Light of the Storm.

Power was restored to our house yesterday afternoon. Admittedly, I let out a teeny cheer—aware that others around me would be returning to a dark home.

Among countless stories, there's one story I think about often and find myself counting my blessings even more than usual. Thank you to everyone who reached out to us to make sure we were okay or to offer help. The AE Design shop is up and running and would like to return the favor.

This year, 100% of our Christmas and Holiday Card design fees will be donated to helping children and families affected by Sandy.

Examples of last year's cheerful cards here, here, here, here, and here. {photo credit}

Sharing is Caring.

It's easy to complain about our 'powerless' situation right now. I am continually saying to myself, "Self, so many people are worse-off! You're being a big fat crybaby—shut the f up." And being the selfish person that I am, it makes me feel better when I can help someone else. If you're the same way, here's a place you can help: the good ol' American Red Cross

I am so grateful for our fabulous neighbors with generators who have let us charge up and heat up. And to Governor Malloy for extending the voter registration to today. Procrastinators of Connecticut applaud you—obviously, including me.

Britney Double Take.

I've been a Britney Spears fan since I first saw the "Hit Me Baby One More Time" video on MTV in the Student Center lounge my Freshman Year of college. And I'm always in her corner no matter what the popular opinion is of her talent level, or personal life. So I was super excited when I was stalking checking out Britney's Facebook page and was blown away by how beautiful she looks in her profile picture! So happy for her, in fact, that I shoved the photo on my iPhone under McMuffin's nose to look at the picture and told him her trim physique and bright eyes, complexion and smile could only be attributed to her love-muffin-fiancé, Jason, and exciting future on X-Factor.

Upon further scrutiny (read: further stalking on Getty Images Editorial Photos), I discovered that that glorious and inspiring Facebook photo (which has since suspiciously changed) was nothing more than a SHAM, people! In fact the closer I looked at the two pictures—the perfect Facebook photo and the real-deal Getty Images pic—the more I could pickup the individual Photoshop improvements... increased arch and filled in eyebrows, skinnier arms, bustier bust, less wrinkle-y elbow, etc.

Britney, You've had a few tough years that no doubt aged you more than your average 30 year old. But if you want to appear skinnier you should just hop on the J. Hud wagon and sign up for Weight Watchers. You're trusted graphic designer/photoshop pro can't help you on your upcoming X Factor appearances.

Honestly,

New Edition.

It's time to freshen up the house with a few new pieces of art. (To go with all the fresh new plants I bought = future post.) Here's what I've found.

This perfectly reflects the chill little Trumpster.

Bought this for Li'l G, our newest potty user!

And THIS would work anywhere. I. LOVE. THESE. COLORS.

And since some of you may have been anticipating a little Bobby Brown action with that blog title... I wouldn't dare disappoint. Break it down now.

This past weekend my parents were in town and my sister spent some QT with us too. Here are a couple shots of our Monday Night Dinner—Fairfield Edition. (Some of you might know about my family's long standing tradition to go to my Nonna's house, in Rochester, New York, every Monday night. I really REALLY miss it. So this was a nice treat.)

Reminder: We're only 8 likes away from 200 on facebook. Be a sweet little muffin and click on my name below to take you to the page. Please and thank you.

Bridal Besties—Invitation Party

After wedding invitations are printed and sent to the bride, they still need to be stuffed, stamped and addressed. This weekend I helped a friend—along with nine other ladies—to get her wedding invitations ready for the Postman.

Snacks, cocktails and pizza are the perfect payment for these busy bees. But shouldn't share the same workspace as the invite assembly-line.

Before your guests arrive be sure to have the addresses ready to roll, along with stamps (have the post office weigh the invitations to be sure you have the correct postage) and lots of pretty pens to choose from.

We all wrote out a test invitation and then the bride chose which handwriting she liked best. Jobs were divided up from there.

One last piece of advice: tailor the helpers to the type of wedding you're having.

For instance, if you're strictly following tradition, it might be great to have the MOBs, MOGs and older Aunts with a lot of experience (and great penmanship) to give you proper etiquette of how things should be stacked, envelopes addressed, etc.

If you're wedding is more laid-back, you might want to have friends who won't give you a hard time addressing envelopes more casually, and just keep the overall experience stress-free.

Have an awesome weekend. If anyone has any good Super Bowl recipes feel free to share.
Go GIANTS!

Santa Baby.

McMuffin does his best shopping with seconds left on the clock. What better time to drop my "letter to Santa" than now—at the last minute.

Giving Thanks.

I'm so thankful for family, friends, good health and good food. But this year, more than ever, I'm so grateful for my awesome clients.

Collaborating with each of you has been so much fun—I'd hardly consider it work. So, thank you for hiring me, inspiring me and letting me share in your special day, pet project, or corporate endeavor.

And now, I'm going to stuff my face with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, butternut squash and best of all....my Mom's homemade APPLE PIE!

Cheetah Girl

I'm a firm believer that the little things in life can make us happy. Here's a literal example of this. Last week, McMuffin asked me to make another copy of our house key. Now, I would never think Home Depot would have anything "on trend" at the key making kiosk—but then I saw this!!!!

I decided to keep the new key for myself. Duh. It makes me so happy every time I look at it. And I get super excited to open and lock my door. Like I said...the little things. In honor of my new found cheetah love, here are more rays of cheetah joy.
