New Project // Half Bath

The kitchen is complete! If you follow me on Instagram you've seen some sneak peeks.

But now we're on to the next project—the powder room/half bath on the first floor.
Here's what I'm thinking:

West Elm Mirror // Kohler Toilet // Thomasville Cabinet from Home Depot // White Macaubus Counter // Painted Tiles // and trying to decide between the Serena & Lily Pendant or the Terrrain Pendant

Peace Out.

I grew up in Upstate New York—as close to the Arctic as you can live without actually living in the Arctic—but even though my body has been conditioned to go most of the year through snow and blistery cold, this year, I just can't take it anymore.

So I signed up to receive daily updates on coastal homes in Los Angeles County. What can I say, it cheers me up. But today, I found the ONE.

See ya East Coast, here's the new digs...

Yep, that's a rooftop terrace to soak up all that gorgeous SUN!!!!

And if you get bored of laying out on the roof, you can always hit up the backyard for a change of equally warm and golden scenery... cue some fire pit action at dusk.

Alright, we're not actually moving. But if you are and you'd like more information on this house go here.

The Little Kitchen That Could.

I feel like I've been pinning ideas for our impending kitchen renovation as long as Pinterest has existed. (And before that I'd saved hundreds of images to a much less organized desktop folder—ahhh the joys of Pinterest!) Check out the whole board here.

But as we meet with the last of the contractors this week, I thought I'd share a mini step in tackling this huge change... THE DRAWINGS!

So far, I absolutely love all the contractors we've met with. I feel comfortable with every single one of them tearing our house to shreds, and confident they'd create an incredible kitchen at the end of it all. If any of you have been in this boat and have advice on how you made such a tough decision, I'm eager to know what made a certain contractor more desirable over another.

Ahhhh—I feel like the Bachelorette! I'm so excited to move forward with the contractor we choose. But I feel awful having to tell the others, "I'm sorry, but you won't be receiving the final rose."

Living Art.

I have a black thumb, it's true, but I am willing to give these air plants a whirl because I just love how they add greenery in such a unique way! No pots, no vases, no hanging macramé baskets.

A friend of mine just had her kitchen completely renovated and they wrapped an entire wall with old barn wood. She's considering layering another natural element over the barn wood with something like these. I cannot WAIT to see the finished result—it's going to be GORG!

Weekend Update // Surf Style

This console area is still a work in progress, but progress is actually being made. The new table arrived with big thanks to my girl, Shelley! (And of course McMuffin for assembling.) Hoping to hang the pics this week and then the hunt begins for... maybe a lamp?

FUN FACT: The surfboard is hung with a Hawaiian Gun Rack, best brand name ever.

Hooray for the Home!

It's here! It's here! It's finally here! Zara Home is no longer just for the British—and I am especially loving the kids home line.

There's a little bit lacking for little boys, but that's probably true for all home good shops. I do love this neutral palette though.

I really can't wait to share my next What I'm Working on Wednesday with you...hopefully next week! Fingers crossed.

No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.

It's that time. McMuffin and I are trying to decide whether to upgrade Trump into a big (as in full size) boy bed or to transition both boys into sharing a room. I've heard some good cases being made as far as letting them share:

• It may help them sleep better (read: longer) knowing that they're not alone
• It's a great bonding experience even for a short time
• May help them to become less selfish (I wonder who they get that from?)

And might I add, rooms with two twin or bunk beds can be freaking adorable and super fun to decorate? Here's some evidence.

Yea, see those auto decals? They need to happen like yesterday.

Backyard Beaut.

Yea, so a version of this needs to happen in the backyard. Had the gardening genius, David Looney, over last week for a consult—if you're in search of a master gardener, give me a jingle on the jangle, I can point you in the right direction.

Tease.

McMuffin was on a roll this weekend! Taking care of unfinished projects that I've made up for him from the Summer. My most FAVORITE being that he hung the surfboard!!!

I want to wait to show you our updated wall until the other pictures are hung. But  I CAN show you my inspiration for hanging this super fun surfboard in our living room!

For some reason I want to say the design is by Erika Powell from Urban Grace Interiors.

Hope ya'll had a lovely weekend. We had an impromptu play date with friends on Friday and then kicked back (as much as you can with two toddlers) eating dinner on the back patio—nothing says Summer like eating outside, and having a "surf lesson" before the surfboard became art.

Not-So-Mellow Yellow.

I'm having a crush on yellow these days. Usually paired with metallic gold. It's becoming a problem.

Cocktail Ottoman.

I totally forgot to tell ya'll what my boys ended up getting me for Mama's day! I was going to wait until I pimped it out, but I can't. Because I love it so much.

Behold.

Within 2 hours of having it in the house my precious new piece of furniture had two gorgeous chocolate frosting stains on it. The boys have adopted it as their racetrack "table". Sweet. If I'm allowed to take the racetrack off, alls I'll need  is a tray, a few more art books, and even more peonies from the backyard.

Happy looooong weekend! And happy Memorial Day. Thank you service peeps!

Outdoors-y.

I'm not exactly a nature-lover. Sure, I love pretty flowers, and dramatic landscaping but I'm not into slimy worms or dirt or kamikaze squirrels or... you get the idea.

Anyway, Terrain just opened their Westport, Connecticut doors and I think it might change my outlook on the great outdoors.

Happy weekend! And Happy Mother's Day to all my fellow Mama's out there.

I know what you're thinking: "It's three days to Mother's Day and you decide to post your wishlist NOW?" I've said it before, I'll say it again—McMuffin (like myself) is a procrastinator when it comes to gift buying. So if I post my wishlist too early, he'll forget and I'll wind up with earmuffs, or a tennis racket... where is that thing anyway?

Don't tell McMuffin, but honestly, my favorite present every year is the card Li'l G and Trump make at school. Heart. Melting.

What I'm Working on Wednesday :: Poster Prints

I was really excited to design a couple prints for Trump's room and I love them so much that I'm making them available to all of you!

This morning print is framed and ready to hang—a perfect fit to IKEA'S Ribba frame.

At only $30.00 a print—it's super affordable to brighten up your baby-love's nursery, bedroom or playroom! Hit me up HERE until the shop is up.

Vintage Schmintage.

I do love a good vintage find. And old-school bathing suits are stealing the scene this summer as framed art for a beach house or coastal themed room.

But why should "mature" suits have all the fun? I think a cute baby swimsuit could be super fun and much easier (and cheaper) to find in fun colors that are very "now" and compliment your home. I love these suits for both boys and girls for a pop of wall color!

 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8

I'd totally frame these cuties in a shadow box for our living room or playroom.
