Savoring Lunch Hour.

My lunch crew tried out this new (to us—it's been open for about 7 months) natural and organic pizza joint in Norwalk, CT—Savor. I expected to feel good about my food selection since I knew I'd be eating lunch prepared with healthy, quality ingredients. But I didn't expect it to be mind-blowingly delicious, a flavor explosion with every bite and we left feeling great—not sleepy and over stuffed. It was so wonderful we went back the next day...and ordered take-out from there yesterday too.

Here are a few of the pizzas and other entrées we tried:

Margarita Pizza: the red sauce is so fresh and sweet topped with basil and fresh mozzarella. The only other tomatoes I've ever tasted that were this delicious were either from my Nonna and Grandpa's garden or the tomatoes and tomato sauce we enjoyed in Italy. Outrageous! (They also have vegan cheese, vegan sausage and vegan pepperoni along with gluten-free crusts.)

The Mediterranean: Thin crust with mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, calamata olives, cucumbers, avocado, artichokes, red onion and dill sauce. So refreshing. The perfect summer lunch.

The Grilled Tribeca: Thin crust pizza with grilled zucchini, grilled eggplant, fire roasted red peppers, asiago and goat cheese, mozzarella and basil/parsley pesto sauce. This is my favorite pizza—so far—that I've tried. There's no meat on it but it totally fills you up—without that "UGH, I need a nap" feeling.

And this delicious number is the Lobster Ravioli in a saffron aquatic sauce—I don't even know what that means. I does not matter. Holy b@lls—WOW! Get this for sure.

For being super awesome patrons the owner gave us a complimentary dessert which again—exceeded all expectation. And which again, I have no idea what it was. (All I heard was "something, something Grand Marnier" mmmmmm.)

Usually, we're all very polite when it comes to dessert—taking turns with whose spoon is scooping up the next bite. This was so insanely crisp and refreshing there were three spoons digging in at all times.

It was gone within 30 seconds. No joke.
If you are passing through Norwalk for any reason you need to check out Savor
430 Main Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut. You will thank me. (You're welcome.)
